August Review: The Virgo New Moon, Eclipse Season, and Reading the Psychic Weather

This last week has been intense. Let us retrace/ revisit the significant aspects this August.

This is what I do – I map out the pattern/s and trace the different threads of archetypal forces and what those mean as they coincide. I then tune into how they all correlate.

Before anything else – some context, for you:

This last week wasn’t just “intense” — it was a breaking point.

These Venus squares have been pressurizing the heart, identity, and nervous system, forcing us to look straight into the places where we’ve been avoiding, bypassing, or holding onto patterns that no longer serve us.

1. Venus Square Saturn & Neptune (Aug 1) — Cracks in the Illusion

Back on August 1, Venus confronted Saturn (reality) and Neptune (illusion).

That double square shook up our ideas about love, value, boundaries, and trust.

• If your relationships, money, or creative paths felt shaky — that wasn’t random.

• Saturn demanded truth, structure, and responsibility, while Neptune dissolved anything built on fantasy, denial, or old coping strategies.

• Collectively, this marked the beginning of crumbling illusions — what’s false cannot hold.

This set the stage for August 22, when those inner cracks widened.

2. Venus Square Chiron Rx (Aug 22) — The Wound That Can’t Stay Buried

On August 22, Venus in Gemini clashed with retrograde Chiron in Aries — reopening deep soul wounds around self-worth, rejection, abandonment, and visibility.

• Venus in Gemini wants connection — it seeks dialogue, curiosity, and harmony.

• Chiron in Aries, though, digs up the places where we feel unsafe in being fully ourselves.

This wasn’t just emotional turbulence; it was soul-level excavation. If you felt raw, triggered, or deeply sensitive — that’s the point. This transit wasn’t here to wound you but to show you where you’re ready to heal.

And because Chiron is retrograde, the stories rising now are old: childhood patterns, ancestral echoes, and identity wounds we’ve carried for lifetimes.

3. Today’s New Moon in Virgo at 0° — The Threshold

Now we stand at the edge of a new chapter:Today’s New Moon at 0° Virgo (August 23) signals pure potential — an unformed beginning.

But it comes in with high voltage because:

• It squares Uranus in Gemini, jolting our nervous systems awake with sudden disruptions, breakthroughs, and realignments.

• It drops us directly into eclipse season, opening a 35-day portal where timelines bend and the unexpected becomes inevitable.

This is a reset point. It calls us to purify, simplify, and ground. Virgo asks:

• What habits, choices, and attachments are keeping you stuck?

• Where have you abandoned your own body, your rituals, your center?

• What’s yours to carry forward — and what must be surrendered, now?

If you’re feeling called to cleanse — physically, emotionally, spiritually — you’re aligning with the grid. This New Moon marks the start of a massive collective detox, preparing us for the eclipse ahead.

4. Enter Eclipse Season — Shadow Work Intensifies

The next eclipse arrives September 21 at 29°05’ Virgo — a critical anaretic degree, amplifying urgency, endings, and karmic shifts.

Eclipse seasons are threshold zones where events accelerate and old structures collapse to make way for the new.

• Things surface now that have been buried for years — personally and collectively.

• Relationships recalibrate. Paths dissolve so new ones can emerge.

• Collective systems — financial, political, relational — are under massive restructuring.

And between now and then, on September 9, we have the Pisces Lunar Eclipse, an emotional purge clearing lifetimes of stored grief, illusion, and old beliefs.

This isn’t “light astrology.” These are soul earthquakes.

5. Blind Spots & Breakthroughs

The Unconscious Collective:

• Stay open: Eclipse season rearranges things you didn’t even know needed shifting.
